William (Bill) Lehner is the CEO of Independence Hydrogen (IH), a privately held company that is a leader in building the American hydrogen economy. IH is pioneering a gaseous production, storage and distribution network that delivers fuel cell grade hydrogen at a fraction of the cost and carbon intensity score than liquid alternatives. IH serves Fortune 50 customers in their material handling needs, as well as supplying the back-up power, transportation, and industrial markets.
Prior to founding IH, Bill was a career officer in the United States Navy. He deployed on five combat tours as an EA-6B “Prowler” Naval Flight Officer and counter-IED advisor before becoming a national security expert at the Pentagon and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Bill is a graduate of the US Naval Academy (USNA) with a degree in Chemistry and has received advanced degrees in Leadership from the Naval Postgraduate School and in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
